hi... so I have this aversion to leaving my sump pump in the pool sitting on the plaster. I think it might rust or stain or something. Is this nuts? should I just leave it in under the cover, with the hose and power plug sticking out?
You are correct. Sump pumps can rust and leave rust stains on the plaster.
I would not leave a sump pump sitting on the plaster when not in use.
Maybe you can put the pump on a plastic bucket so the pump is not sitting on the palster.
I just drop my pump in on the edge of my cover when I need to drain water and then remove it. I also don't want the pump and hose to get buried in snow and freeze, if we ever get any this season.
