Jandy Nicheless LED Hydrocool Pool Lights

Hello, The lights themselves look fine as they are the smaller black ring and smaller central light diffuser shown in your photo - I would guess that the larger whiter ring on the very outside is not part of the Jandy lights, but it is some kind of adapter or flange that is part of your...

New Jacuzzi Brand Hot Tub Cover - Sunbrella material?

I bought a cover Feb last year with a similar material - our material is called WeatherShield, and it is supposed to last longer than Vinyl. We got the cover from rhtubs.com. So far it is holding up well, but more time will tell. I think it is a little nicer looking than vinyl. We have some...

Getting sick of putting MA in

Mine is installed before my SWCG - I figure a little low PH water passing by for a few minutes won't harm anything and might help keep it a little bit cleaner. I use 14% acid and dilute it down further to around 7%, so that mixed in with the water is not going to cause any damage in my estimation...

Help pick between 2 builders and options

I was in a pool at a hotel last weekend that had a 3ft shallow end and it was so weird - It barely went above my waist and I am height challenged... I also would suggest going with at least a 3.5ft true water depth.

Autocover lid - can I see pics of yours please

Here is a view from the other side... My Coping is 24" wide. - (edit) the bracket is at each coping joint so I have 7 brackets and 8 big coping pieces. The motor and brackets also include support for the coping on each end. So the brackets are in the center section only. We do have a couple...

Autocover lid - can I see pics of yours please

Looks like you have the brackets to hold "coping stones" over the vault. That is what we have - our coping is pre-cast concrete - the coping can be pulled up as needed - mine are a bit heavy, I can handle them but my wife and son have trouble moving them. I sometimes tilt them up, or I slide...

    C-19 Vaccine-I got one

I got my second Pfizer shot on Tuesday - felt pretty good at first and thought I would do OK, but by yesterday 20 hours after the shot I was pretty sore all over and had intermittent chills - overall just felt pretty worn out - Today I feel much, much better. My wife got her 2nd shot Monday -...

water loss over autocover vault dam

The cover dam is also my overflow prevention device...if I leave the cover off during big rain storms I never need to worry about the water level. And yes kids, and myself on occasion, do cause quite a bit of water to wash over. For my sons 10th birthday, pre-covid, we had close to 20 people at...

New pool build: Auto cover + in floor cleaning + ozone = overkill? (design feedback as well)

You can add "deep heat returns" if you want to move water from the deep end and circulate the water a bit more - not sure if it will change the heating effeciancy - we have them as it was something our pool builder does as a standard setup - with our cover, and the deep heat returns on, the top...

Recommended levels for pool with Autocover

I run my pool closed 90% of the time, and I try to keep it closer to 40 CYA, as I find 40 is a little easier to manage for my pool. When I tried to keep it around 30 for a season it seemed a little harder to keep the chlorine levels consistent week to week. I think it is harder to tell when the...

Salt finish on the pool decking - too slippery?

We have a salt finish and it is not slippery at all - my neighbor has a fine broom finish that ended up being very slippery and he had to add a top coating with shark bite grip additives to get it to be safe... If you like the look of the good old salt finish it should be very safe as far as...

(6/22/2021 -- Project Complete!) New Pool and Backyard overhaul - Orange County, CA

Great looking pool and backyard - will keep an eye on the rest of your build. My neighbor is trying to plan a pool and wants something long and narrow like yours - his yard forunately slopes away from his house, so it will be a little easier for him to build. The shade structure you have on the...

I have a very similar tile and layout to your pool - and I never thought about the grout lines matching the coping - mine don't and change all the way down the pool.
