Hi! New pool owner here!
We are in the middle of our fiberglass pool installation (20+ weeks since the start of excavation). It’s been an awful experience with our pool builder.....
We have so many issues/questions....
But here is an easy one!
Is this how the Jandy LED lights are suppose to look installed? Are we just missing the lens cover piece? Right now they stick out like a sore thumb.... and don’t ask me why our builder didn’t use grey fittings 🤦🏼‍♀️DBA2B98C-F7D7-4F26-8021-CA6C07F2E2B8.jpeg

Hello,
The lights themselves look fine as they are the smaller black ring and smaller central light diffuser shown in your photo - I would guess that the larger whiter ring on the very outside is not part of the Jandy lights, but it is some kind of adapter or flange that is part of your fiberglass pool.

I have had much better luck with the hydro-cool lights compared with the previous generation of Jandy/Savy lights - they failed very regularly.

Thanks! I assume there are covers you can put over the black ring? Our pool builder took all the extra pieces that came with the lights. And yes, the pool builder drilled holes in the shell and installed those white fittings/rings before the lights were installed...I’m not sure why? Or if they are necessary?

I have the Jandy leds in my gunite pool. That white collar you have must have something to do with the fiberglass pool install.
On my lights, I have a 1.5" pvc pipe with threads and the led screws right into it. Your black collar should be white as that is what mine is. You have a tool to unscrew the light. Each light comes with one. it fits over the black collar and has 2 nipples on it. The nipples engage the grooves in the black collar to unscrew it.
