    GFCI keeps tripping

Wanted to update everyone, and thank the group for the help. I let it sit all day yesterday. In the afternoon, I randomly flipped the breaker, and bam, it worked! So, got to use it last night and so far, it's still working well. Something must have gotten wet and it dried out, that's my only...

    GFCI keeps tripping

Hey Jim. I sure did. Started with the heater actually, then disconnected both pumps as well as the entertainment system and everything else except the control panel.

I took the panel off, it’s all dry as a bone underneath.

    GFCI keeps tripping

I have an Alterra Fairfax spa. I just filled and turned it on today for the season. It ran for about 5 hours today. It got up to temp, 101. When I went to do a cycle of Ahhhsome, I opened the air vents and turned both pumps on, and it ran for 30 seconds, then tripped the breaker. I...

    Aim my jets, please!

Sorry, I couldn’t draw a straight line on my phone lol.

    Aim my jets, please!

Winds tend to come from the south, west, and north. The skimmers are on the west side of the pool. Fortunately it isn’t that windy here, but when it is, it’s either early or late season.

    Aim my jets, please!

I do have weir doors. Also, TIL that they are called weir doors and not skimmer flaps. I will adjust my valves to achieve a calm flow and not a tornado! Thanks!

    Aim my jets, please!

I can, yes. With all valves wide open, my skimmers do suck hard. There’s a nice “tornado” in the skimmer. I just didn’t know if my jets weren’t aimed correctly.

    Aim my jets, please!

Thanks. Running 2400 rpm for 12 hrs during the day and 750 rpm for 12 hrs over night.

    Aim my jets, please!

Hey all. Need some help with return aiming. Pics show how they’re aimed now and this is how they’ve been for several years. I get good water change over and circulation but I feel my skimmers aren’t operating to their full potential. Deets: ~28k gallons Hayward VS pump Hayward Sand Filter with...

Water under my liner - pool is empty

That’s probably at least how many I have. It’s disgusting!

Water under my liner - pool is empty

Where do you clean them from? Do you pull them out of the pump basket? Or do you use an in-line leaf catcher?

Water under my liner - pool is empty

Well, I got the hundreds of worms sucked out of the bottom and mains. I took the grates off and noticed a crack in the gasket ring on the left side main drain. That’s likely part of my problem. I’m letting the water drain out of the gap between the liner and the main housing and sucking it out...

Water under my liner - pool is empty

I do not have hydrostatic valves, I know that. Fortunately this is the beginning of the third season for my liner so hopefully it’ll play nice. I wonder if hydrostatic valves can be installed after the fact? I’m going to look into that. Thanks for your assistance!

Water under my liner - pool is empty

Well the long story is that my property backs up to a pasture and a vineyard. I get a lot (hundreds to maybe more than a thousand!) of worms in the pool throughout the winter, so my plan was to completely drain, clean, and then refill. But, my sump pump float switch apparently failed so the...

Water under my liner - pool is empty

Hello. I searched both the forums and google and couldn’t find anyone in my exact situation as my pool is empty (a long story!) I have water under my liner at the deep end, so should I just unscrew one of the main grates (I have two) and let it flow over to the other side of the liner or...

Leaving Spa unattended for 2 weeks?

It's been a minute since I've been here. I came back to a perfectly clean hot tub. here's what I did beginning 2 days before our departure: brought chlorine up to 10ppm reduced PH to 7.2 lowered temp to 80 degrees - the lowest setting on my tub that isn't "off" I did not unplug my ozone...

Leaving Spa unattended for 2 weeks?

I haven’t yet done the Ahhsome yet. Didn’t know about it until you mentioned it. I will do that though.

Leaving Spa unattended for 2 weeks?

Water is 2 weeks old. It is used however, it’s a 2017 model that sat empty from 2/20 till a month ago when I bought it. I got a lot of sludge out of the lines and drained/refilled but maybe there’s more…

Leaving Spa unattended for 2 weeks?

I have a 360 gal hot tub that I keep balanced using the TFP method. I use LC and PoolMath. I’m going out of town for 2 weeks. I’ve noticed this thing eats LC like nobody’s business so if I SLAM it before I leave, I’ll be out of FC in 3ish days. I’d rather not come back to a big nasty mess...

In NW Arkansas… Tips to close?

Hi. I live in the NW corner of Arkansas, literally on the line of the USDA Plant Hardiness zones 6B and 6A. We have crazy temp swings. I started trying to follow the TFP method this season, however I've gone half the season without LC. I've had a perfect pool all year using PoolMath and my...

    Pipe size question

Hello, all. I have a pipe size question. I searched and couldn't find my answer. I'm getting ready to plumb the equipment pad and need some advice on topside pipe sizing. I have 8 individual 2" runs to my pad, as follows: Main drain skimmers (2) dedicated suction vac line returns (3) deck jets...

    Recommended sanitizers?

I'm not looking to entirely replace chlorine, I guess I didn't make that clear. But I'm not sure chlorine hasn't aged out as the best primary sanitizer. Staring in '96, The IOC mandated that Ozone be the primary sanitizer of Olympic pools. I'd hardly call Ozone/AOP or any other sanitizer...

    Recommended sanitizers?

Hi all. I'm new here but not new to pool ownership. I've owned both salt-chlorinated and traditional "chemical" pools. At present, I'm installing (myself!) a 25k gallon in-ground liner pool. I'm having a really hard time deciding on the combination of sanitizing equipment that best fit my needs...
