Infloor system as only return conundrums

Might make the skimmer "reach" father out but I don't think you will get the return push that we get to push stuff to the returns

Considering a VS motor? Look at the whole system to optimize performance.

If your using a gauge get one with a air bleed

    Pool light wires won’t budge!

Try compressed air to loosen any dust. Always try pulling for either side to get it to loosen.

    Pump Pump Timer Recommedation

Put your pool details in your sig so we know what you have. I'm assuming you have a 110v pump, you need a 20 amp timer, the one you gave listed is 15. Do you have a regular plug or a twist lock? If it's regular any timer that is outdoor, 20 amp will do. Get one that can turn on/off many times...

How do I plumb 1.5" pvc to my skimmer and return??

If it were me I would get a new skimmer and return bulkhead that takes threaded connections. Skimmer is $30-$40 and the return is $15 I think. Second option for me is to take those things to a hardware store like Menards/home Depot and find a flex pvc/spa hose/quality suction hose and find one...

Can I use this pump to make a portable pool vacuum?

Yeah skimmer plate or vac port going to be easier and better than anything else. Your cheap pump has a Crud filter, but the pump is ok, typically .44 hp which is plenty for 1 skimmer. I have used one on my pool full time and vaccuming is tough and slow. As you probably found out it won't prime...

VSP - What speed to use when?

Turn on your pump at a low speed like 1000 or 1200 and see if your heater or swg will turn on. The lowest speed that it will turn on + 200 rpm is the speed you want to run. Then the next couple of weeks make sure the skimmer is working like it should. It only takes 1/2 hp roughly to skim a pool...

Plumbing in new pump - flexible or rigid pvc?

Can't tell from the picture but flex PVC is flexible at a distance, not so much at 6". Bring a heat gun or a hair dryer

    Changing from suction to return

Not sure where a main drain came into this topic?????

    Changing from suction to return

Not really, your skimmer does all the work and if you split the suction it killed the skimmer. If it was being correct you would need to take care if entrapment risks as well

    How many gpm?

I think suction cleaners need 3/4 to 1 hp, they typically say on them

    New build - 27’ 54” Resin

Even Eps is ok but xps is better, I think because of water but it has been too long since I've compared the too.

Bonding above ground pool composite deck

Hmm I'm not the best person to answer this but I wonder if your building static electricity on the composite decking. One way to know is walk on the deck like you know you would get a shock on the water but touch something metal instead.

Question about overfilling on (modded) Intex pool

The holes are from the design, and not for overflow. If they were for overflow only one tiny one would be needed. 6" of wall height on a good Intex style of pool I don't think will matter at the top at least, maybe at the bottom be if your pool is really badly set up. If you cover the holes I'd...

Is it safe to temporarily (2-3 days) run the pump from a heavy duty extension cord?

That's why they use a twist lock cord. Electricity wise a 12 guage extension cord will do 10 amps at 50 feet.

    Ants in my pump

One of my favorite things... Get two 5 gallon buckets and a shovel, fill one up from ant hill, carry to a different ant hill, fill second bucket up then pour first bucket into second ant hill, then second bucket into first ant hill. Go make popcorn and return to watch the war.

    Pool pipes buried with valves

There's two ways I might handle this. Extend the handles to the surface with a rod and cover back up as is. Put a sump pump in the hole to keep it clean so I can access the cables if need be.

need help selecting SWG, pump, and filter for my 24' AGP

You will be fine although the Intex swg are small and require longer run times. If you find your energy bill or pump run time too long just supplement with bleach during the summer. Most of your clorine will be from the swg so you won't have to use much.

    Pump won't prime.

Might be a good one for a air fitting in the pump basket drain, filter on closed, to try to blow out the suction line with a air compressor.
