Help! I can’t get water to clear up

Those are 50 micron filters.

Unicel, Pleatco, and Filbur are all large and reliable suppliers of filter cartridges, which are typically 10-20 micron.

Have you done an OCLT yet? Do that, let’s see where we are…link —>Overnight Chlorine Loss Test
Ok I’m willing to try anything!
We can buy new filters that are 10-20 micron.
I usually test right before I go to bed but haven’t tried before the sun rises, by the time I test the sun is usually up. I’ll try to do it earlier tomorrow morning and log it.

Ordered pleatco replacement filters. They will be here tomorrow.
OCLT FC=11.5, CC=0.5 at night; FC=10.5, CC=1 before sunrise
No change in what the water looks like

Photo tonight
I was able to do more frequent testing today.
New filters should arrive by tomorrow

Great job on the additions. I know it is hard.
Hope the filters help.
Do me a solid, clean your vials with rubbing alcohol and dry well before you test again. This will remove any residue that can interfere with test...can cause CC to be higher.

Today’s photo. It has been pouring all day, probably 2” of rain. So it’s getting diluted.
Filters just arrived. Will try to swap those out before it gets dark so they can run overnight.

Today’s photo
Today is the 1st day I can say that I am seeing a little progress. When standing right next to it I can sort of see the bottom of shallow end.
Progress is progress 👍🏻
It can help to also have something in the water like the brush & pole to get an idea of how far down into the abyss you can really see when you take your daily snapshot

Definitely moving in the right direction, just slowly…
Can definitely see bottom of shallow end but can’t see anything yet in deep end.
My husband who is not very patient wants to add clarifier?
I keep saying no and to just stick with this process, but he’s threatening to put in in when I’m not looking 😂

No clarifier - its not needed.
Why?
Well, if you add clarifier and it works (sometimes it does sometimes it doesn’t & causes more problems) then you are falsely passing one of the most important end of slam criteria - the Crystal clear one.
Many people pass the other two (oclt & cc) well before they pass this one but the job is obviously not done. You need all 3 for real.
You want to truly eradicate the algae & prove it, not just stick a bandaid on it and call it good only to have to do this again shortly down the road.
While there are instances when a good clarifier is called for - you aren’t quite there yet.
Stay the course 💪
Do all the things 👇
*Clean your filters when psi rises 25% over clean pressure
*maintain slam fc level as often as you can. 4x’s a day if you’re able to
*Brush or vac daily and scrub all nooks & crannies - light niches, drains, skimmer throats/weirs etc.
