My motor is super loud all day today. Is that a sign it's time for a new one?
How long do they generally last and what's a comparable model?
My pool service company is quoting $515 so I just want to make sure it's in-line.IMG_0197.JPG

Looks like you had the same issue earlier.

If you keep the pad clean and clear of debris, it will help you detect leaks faster and address leaks before the bearings are ruined.

You have what looks to be a .5hp full-rate/.75hp uprated Hayward MaxFlo pump.
Hopefully, your impeller is a SPX2605C, a .5hp impeller, as that is the largest impeller that motor is rated for use. The motor in the picture is a .95THP (total horsepower) motor which is a standard-rated .5 hp motor with a 1.9 service factor. The motor you had previously was a .75 thp one, based on the picture from JamesW. That one was also a replacement motor.
Be sure to check the impeller number before choosing a new motor.
Also, find out why your seals keep leaking. Those pumps had sealplates that would occasionally crack and the crack can be so small you won't see it. A new seal won't solve the problem and a new motor will be damaged again.
That price seems very reasonable, if the tech can get a new motor. Single-speed motors are hard to get through wholesalers now. Add the cost of the other parts needed (shaft seal, O rings, etc.) to do the job properly, and then labor and its not a bad price at all.
