I'm curious. Why didn't you just do it when you got the cell? Why do two PVC work sets...or I'm confused.

I did as much as I could today to prepare for it. So now all I will have to do is cut the pipe and glue it in. Then the flow switch. Oh and electrical.. I may look into that tomorrow.
I thought the exact same thing then I realized that the long pipe needed to be cut/glued the same amount of times either way. Maybe the 1st stage had a short completion time window.

Well i knew I did not have enough room if I just cut the chlorinator out and knowing me I'll get it Wednesday and all be out here all night trying to install it.
Better to get it some of it figured out this weekend.
Cutting out the 90s also improved my flow.

Not to throw a wrench in the works, why are you not adding a heater bypass while you are going the work?

My ultratemp didnt affect flow and similar to OP, on the off chance it blew, i could have had an emergency bypass made up in minutes.

I actually removed it. Never used it. Super easy to add back in if I need one.Not to throw a wrench in the works, why are you not adding a heater bypass while you are going the work?

I'm planning on extending my slab in the near future. I can add it back into the loop then.

Probably next year's project. But the plan is to build a lean-to over the equipment and extend the concrete. Both ends will be open, and the sun facing side will be chain link fence with privacy screen to keep the sun off my equipment.
I wouldn't spend the $150. With simple plumbing my HP and SWG ran near 1000 RPMs and the SWG was 90d directly to the heater output. I forget now and it very well may have been in the 3 digits.
For gas heaters or HPs with restrictions, i'd be all for the bypass. Also for somebody who couldnt fix the plumbing one day years from now, or anyone letting the chemistry go whack. You're 0 for 3 like I was.
