Drained Due to CH Pushing 1000ppm..

Sorry. Got off topic here but when you find solid workers you treat them well and pay them handsomely and they come back by a phone call or text.

We should be filling it this afternoon I think.

You can't hijack your own thread. (y)

If anything it's possible help for others finding a reliable crew.

I have the other problem that most of my friends are in the trades and they aren't worried about losing me as a customer so I wait. :ROFLMAO:

If i need it done soon, i have to call a stranger so they race right out to earn a new customer.

Too bad you're not in SoCal or I'd send them your way if you needed anything done.

They also painted the whole house and have done lotsbof other things for me. BTW, I order the supplies but they do the work to get 'er done.

I am eternally grateful I found them at Home Depot a few years ago. They've been irreplaceable for me and instrumental in creating our home according to my vision.
Can I send them airplane tickets?

All done. Started the fill at dusk last night. Shut it off to not overflow while sleeping. We'll be ready for swimming in a week assuming it warms up again soon.

Added acid and started aeration.

Another sock of CyA is next.

Dialing back the SWG but I did add half a gallon of sodium hypochlorite yesterday and it was cloudy all day.

After a couple of days I'll bring up the CH but want it to stabilize first. Part of my fill was with soft water from the auto fill BTW.

Currently pH is 7.5 and TA is 70ppm.

Calculated CSI is -0.71.

Adding another quart of acid. I won't aerate yet as i want to drop TA to 60ppm and I think pH will come up on its own.

I'll keep monitoring CH as I don't want to overdo it by adding calcium carbonate just yet.

Update:

pH 7.8
TA 60ppm
Calculated CSI -0.48

I know CH is lower than optimal but I am going to keep it low for a few days as I don't want to over-shoot on Calcium Carbonate.

I'm going to slowly bring up the CH with calcium chloride. Little by little.

I'll add the last 40# bag of salt.

I need to buy more MA today as I only have a quart on hand and as I increase CH, I want to keep the CSI between -0.6 and -0.3.

I'm intentionally keeping CyA low right now and waiting for some sun to bring the FC down to about 6ppm. SWG is set to 0% currently.

Latest log after adding 92oz calcium chloride and 40# salt. Dialing it, baby!

I did not test for CyA.

pH and TA is remarkably high.

I'm going to bring a sample to the jobber pool store nearby to test for metals.
I had three hoses going for about 80% of the fill then opened the valve for the autofill fed from the water softener which has a CH of 0 but I haven't measured TA. All fill is from the autofill going forward.
