Hello TFP community!

I am working to plumb my new Gulfstream heat pump on an inherited build including the specs below:

Century HSQ165
Pentair CCRP 100
Existing 1.5in pvc piping

I plan route route the water from the filter through the heater, and the outflow from the heater to the pool return.

I’ve read about the benefits of diverter valve and am consider a diverter and check valve build given my single speed pump. In addition, I have 1.5in plumbing, but the heater requires 2in so I’ll need a reducer.

I welcome any feedback. Thanks!

Wow thank you for the valuable info!

After reviewing those links, it seems like disconnecting the filter output at the union will be my starting point, and rebuilding from there.

For the pool return, I’ll have to cut below the elbow and connect the heat pump return there.

The bypass seems to be the smart way to go!

Century HSQ165 is a motor not the pump. With a Pentair filter you likely have a Pentair Whisperflow pump, but a picture would confirm. Its hidden in the picture you attached.

Thank you for the insight! I’ve included a new picture, but didn’t see any markings or branding. Can you help me ID it?
