Another question still..anyone??

It’s the test kit I purchased from this website.
I believe that has already been mentioned earlier in the thread
And for the record, this is my third summer as a member of this site and using this sites advice, and yes, everything I have ever gotten in the pool whether it be bathing suit or whatever when the chlorine levels are this high have faded or bleached out. This is nothing new
Chlorine does tend to do that

And I apologize for being a little snappy today. It’s just that I have learned a lot from this site, I feel fairly confident I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing, and I’m just getting very frustrated at this point 😡😡

So my free chlorine was a little high at 8 o’clock this morning at 23 so I just let it be. Nine hours later it has only dropped to 21. 20.5 actually.
I thought I read here that that was a normal loss daily in this type of heat so can I assume that there is actually less algae that is consuming the chlorine? Finally???

It is a normal loss. You have not been keeping your logs up to date, so nothing to compare with...

Your best bet to get this finished is to figure out how to scrub everything, and I'd backwash 3x per day.

Nothing about my test results are changing so there’s nothing to update.
I mean obviously I’m not going to update it multiple times a day just because I’m testing the chlorine. Nothing else has changed.

Ok on the backwashing.
I’d like to let the chlorine drop some before I get in there since it’s literally fading and bleaching any piece of clothing it touches when it’s at max 20 ppm

@kimray i use a 6' pole with a shop vac attachment wire tied on the pole. This lets me go 6' to a 12' reach since it does extend. I also have the regular 8 foot to 16 foot telescopic pole with a brush. So I can brush then vaccumm from outside the pool should I choose or the $150 robot misses or goes dead. Here's a picture of both poles. I can literally turn the black shop vac upside down and see stuff flow into it. I actually want to get a 6-8" wide attachment and see how it does. The robot just stirs stuff up first and misses sinking dead bugs and leaves and pine needles. And to add to my arsenal I have a intex return side vaccum. He goes back and forth for as long as you want.

Weird how other pools with 20 ppm FC and 50 ppm CYA don't have that problem. In fact, I'd be surprised if that could happen even in a pool with 200 ppm FC and 50 CYA.

Understand that I'm not just trying to be argumentative. What you are describing should not be happening in a pool with the chemistry you are claiming. That indicates something might be wrong with your testing. If something is wrong with your testing, then that is likely contributing to the rest of your problems.

If there’s anyone else out there that wants to chime in and give me some help I would appreciate it. I’ve done everything I’m supposed to do and I still see no improvement and I’m pretty sure this is not right…
I’ve heard of completely green pools clearing up easier than this.
Heck my own green pool after opening in the spring has cleared up easier than this.

Last tests show 5 days ago. I for sure can't help without seeing what's been done or results. 🤷🏼‍♂️🥲

The test results haven’t changed so there is nothing to update. Apologies but I’m not one just to go and put a new test log out there just for the heck of it. Lol there’s nothing to update.
And I’m sorry but I do not have the time nor the desire to go redo test results constantly just so that people here can see a current date. That’s just silly when nothing has changed 🤣🤣
All of my numbers have remained in balance the entire time. The only thing that has changed is when I test my free chlorine every few hours.
And I add chlorine per the instructions every time it’s low.
Therefore the test log that you see from five days ago is accurate as of five minutes ago as well. If it changes I will post it

I am not in a position that I can invest much more in this pool at this time beyond what I already have

Actually now that I think about it, it’s probably the baking soda. My test results told me I needed to add 2 pounds when I first put the pool up and everything in my body screamed don’t do it! Don’t do it! But I “trusted the method “and did it anyway against my better judgment. I say that because two years ago the same thing happened and the test results told me I needed baking soda so I added it. And of course, as common sense would tell you, when you mix white powdery stuff in water, you get white cloudy water. Same as when you add it in cooking. It doesn’t go away.
And I ended up having to drain the cloudy mess and start over. Did not add baking soda again because quite honestly I really couldn’t care less about the alkalinity or the pH lol.
I was stupid enough to do it again this year so that’s probably what I’m dealing with. Because there is no green algae, no brown algae. Just White cloudy water.

I’m sure people will give me all the reasons why that’s not possible, but I know from firsthand experience that’s exactly what happened last time I added it, and here I am again with the same result since I made the same mistake.

That also explains why I’m seeing zero result even though it’s being diligently treated with chlorine. And it confirms that I have no choice but to drain it and start over.

And since that is not some thing I am willing to do due to the amount of money it cost me to refill, I’m just going to post it on Facebook for sale.
Now to go spend even more money buying a couple hundred feet of drain hose so that I can empty it 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️
