Another question still..anyone??

Be careful with clarifier. I used it once and yes helped with clarity. But look at it coming out with backwash and the green
Yes I know you can use too much and wind up having even more problems. But I just used a little bit. I’ve used it in the past with great results. And the only thing that I got after I backwashed was some really nasty cloudy water. So I’m calling it a win

Edited to add that the free chlorine was exactly the same at 7:30 PM as it was at 7 AM. So I’m struggling to think this is algae.

OK last night chlorine was 13.5 PPM and at 7 o’clock this morning it was showing 12 ppm. So a slight loss. I vacuumed the bottom of the pool last night and as of right now it has had almost 24 hours to settle and the water is starting to take on a slight cloudy tint again.

I don’t know if it matters but I did buy a new plunge valve this year and it is aerating the water so much that I have little water bubbles all over the inside of the liner. Could that be causing problems??

Otherwise I don’t know what else to do besides add clarifier every few days to try to filter this out. Because it doesn’t appear anything is going to get rid of the cloudy water.

And in case someone asks, no the ladder isn’t even back in the pool yet. It’s been out of the pool for over a week

I guess I will try replacing the media back to sand like someone mentioned doing since I have zeo. Thats the only thing left it can be 🤷🏻‍♀️
Are there any posts or vids about changing media? Ive only added sand when I bought a new filter. I’ve never taken old media out and changed it

There’s several on YouTube-
basically you:
isolate the filter from the pool,
drain the water in the filter by unscrewing the drain plug,
Remove the mpv (undo the collar & pull straight up),
then you can use a shop vac to carefully suck out the zeo/sand -
Inspect the laterals & such for cracks & correct placement while you’re at it.
When putting new sand/media in fill to the 1/2 way mark with water first so the sand gets distributed evenly and its more gentle on the laterals.
Tape over the stand pipe so no sand goes in it.

Thanks!
I put the filter on recirculate yesterday and it has not gotten any cloudier so I strongly suspect the media has been my problem all along. Figures lol…
Great thinking!
Now you’re going all TFP on me!
Process of elimination!

I just wanted to say thank you so much for mentioning the possibility of the ZO being in the problem. I have left the pool on recirculate for the last five days and the water clarity has not changed at all. So that was obviously the culprit.
I know the general consensus is that cloudy water is almost always algae, but leave it to me to be the redheaded stepchild that flies in the face of everything and is different 🤣🤣
