I have a Hayward system with a Omni hub that controls the VSP and a relay that controls the lights and waterfall valve. The heat pump is a Hayward model #HP31204T Serial # 21132201504026001. The heating function of the heat pump works excellent I am unable to get the chilling/ cooling function to work though. I set the Omni hub to the correct settings and enabled the chilling. It still does not turn on. I have attached the photos of my Omni hub wiring and the heat pump wiring. Am I missing something? Is something not wired correctly ? Do I need another relay to activate the chilling function? I bought the home 6 months again with all the equipment already installed.

Welcome to TFP.

Which wire connects the HP to the OmniHub?

Point out where the wire connects on both ends.

The other contacts are for sensors. I’m not sure if you can assign the open sensor contact for the cooling com cable. I have never attempted that and I’m not sure of the functionality of a sensor contact vs a Low Voltage relay.

Hey fellas. Thanks for the reply’s.
So the low volt wires (yellow & black) in the hub connect where I circled in the picture. The HP wires connect to two wire connectors and go to the board and to a component behind the wire loom in the HP Control panel.

So I basicly need an upgraded Omni hub ? Correct

Sorry man I am kinda new to pool equipment so hopefully you can forgive my ignorance. Are you stating that I need a Omni pl or a bigger Omni hub / brainbox that has more control slots ?
Yes you need to upgrade if you don’t have and rs comm connection for a “smart heater” otherwise just do standalone to cool/heat your pool.

They spliced into your pressure switch. That only gives you limited functionality. To have a truly automated system you need 2 low voltage relays.
Would it be possible to add a low voltage relay to the system? When you say low voltage relay are you referring to the same type of relay that controls my lights, I think it’s a Hayward HLH485RELAY if I am correct .

Ok. I think I get it now. Thank you so much fellas. I am still getting the hang of this pool equipment stuff. I bought this place and they upgraded everything except the power box, they left the old Hayward gold line control box for the breaker function and moved everything else to the Omni system. I am assuming they did that to be more cost effective. I probably should just get the Omni pl box that has the salt plug in on it so the system can run completely how it’s supposed to

I agree you will have a fully automated system then. I did notice the connector for your flow switch is not used. Do you have a separate Aquarite system or just no flow switch?
