It seems like our pump motor is in need of replacement. I shut off power to the motor this afternoon to clean the filter basket and when I went to turn it back on, I get a low hum but nothing more. I would guess this motor is pretty old, I cannot find anything like it online. Does anyone have any recommendations on what would be best for a 22,000 gallon pool (in ground). We live in the northwest and historically have ran our pump 24/7 365. It’s just what the previous owners did and haven’t wanted to mess with it too much.

Is this something we can easily DIY for replacement or should we seek out a professional?

Had the same issue a couple of year s ago. Turned out to be the start capacitor. $20 fixed the issue. Might be worth a try before you spend a thousand or two on a new pump.
Have a look at this.

There's more to replacing a motor on that "ancient" HydroPump than just bolting on a motor. Given the age, it is very likely that both the impeller and volute are completely worn out. Then there is the matter of removing the shaft extension (sometimes your get lucky and they just slide off), then setting the correct clearance of the impeller from the volute face (if they aren't worn).
