New pool owner here. In ground 20x44 pool. Looking for a robot cleaner. Any recommendations on corded versus cordless? Any specific brand/model you would suggest that would clean floor, walls and +/- waterline? Thanks for you patience with this newbie question!

I would not suggest cordless. I suggest a corded Polaris with wheels, not tracks. Why? Because I have one and love it and 8 seasons with no issues.

Disclaimer: I have no experience with any other robot.

We have a new pool (16x34) and a Dolphin CC plus corded and it's been great. We don't have to pull it out of the pool every day to charge it- it can stay a few days at a time, and it's easy to fish out with the cord. We are having a patio built currently and debris and pollen are flying all over and our little workhorse has been keeping the pool clean despite bits of gravel and debris getting in there constantly. It's not rated to do the scumline, but it gets up there anyway and scrubs it pretty well. Like most robots it does only a half decent job on the steps so we brush those before starting it.

My only complaints are that the control unit is water resistant but not "waterproof" so you're supposed to have it covered for heavy rain- and that you pay more for the convenience of the cart to store it on which seems like it could be better designed- however we care much more about performance and in that regard it does well.
