Good afternoon everyone.

I am looking to automate and be able to control all of my pool equipment from one of the Pentair Apps for a Iphone.

I have some knowledge and a lot of mechanical ability so I will most likely do the install with an electrician.

We have the following equipment;
Pentair IC-40 Chlorine Generator
Pentair VST pump P/N 140264
Pentair Lights P/N 601002, LT INTLBRT 5G 100' 120V, COLOR POOL LIGHT
Heater, (Not Pentair)

Does anyone have an in depth knowledge of the Pentair controllers? Is the IntelliConnect the best setup for all of this?

Thanks in advance everyone!

Check the tag on you pump. That p/n comes up as a filter.
If you have a Superflo VS as shown in your signature, depending on date of manufacture, it may not be easily controlled by automation.

The newest automation is the Intellicenter.

Thanks for responding so quickly. I’m not sure what you mean about moving our breakers. We have a dedicated 100 amp panel by the pool equipment.

I really don’t have a plan on this and am open to all options, suggestions and wisdom you have.

The Intellicenter has a circuit breaker panel built in. They may have a system that comes without it, but it makes for a very clean install if your pool related breakers are in the panel with your automation.

Edit - the panel without breakers is the Intellicenter LIte. You would need the i5P as that would give you 4 relays (exc pump). You do NOT need the bundle with a SWCG as you all ready have a SWCG with the power center

Look at the Pentair IntelliCenter Lite...

The IntelliConnect may work for you but I suggest you confirm with Pentair that your pump will work via RS-485 with the IntelliConnect. The IntelliConnect may need a firmware update to the latest version that Pentair can push to systems connected to the internet.

One of the advantages of the IntelliCenter is it has a cover card that will tell the system when the cover is closed and it can reduce the SWG % generation. Read Pentair Automation Systems - Further Reading

IntelliConnects with host firmware 1.6.2.5 and above now have the ability to control the SuperFlo VST manufactured after 2020, and I’ve seen a couple of members here doing just that.

I have an Intelliconnect and it works fine for my simple pool. But if the Intellicenter Lite had been available when I bought it, I probably would have gone in that direction instead.
