Pool filled with dirt

This is interesting. A neighbor just took a jackhammer to their pool because they are done with it. I was surprised.

Anyhow. Welcome! Others will be by to provide some insights. Did they leave any of the equipment? Do you know how long ago this was done?

Welcome to TFP.

We have had a few threads on pools rescued from their graves.

Go to the building department and see what plans and permits are on file for the house.

Call local pool companies, give them the address, and ask them if they worked on a pool at that location and what can they tell you about it.

Ask neighbors if they know any history about the pool.

See if the tax roll assessment lists a pool at the address.

Lookup the past deeds when the property has been sold and see if a plot survey is included that shows the pool.

I don't think there are many pool companies that are going to be interested in trying to resurrect a filled in pool. Like mentioned above, try to find out what was does when it was filled. If you're thinking of doing it yourself, still try to figure out what was done to it (to determine if it's a complete loss or not) and plan on the worse case.
