Did my spa guy install the water temperature sensor in the wrong spot?

Please see pictures before. The spa is completed, he is now working on automation. I am reviewing everything and it seems to me that he installed the sensor downstream of the heater (see attached pics). Not a very good idea I guess. Hayward Omnilogic manual at page 8 says "This sensor is used to measure the pool/spa temperature and is installed in the filtration plumbing after the filter but before either the solar or conventionally fueled heaters—refer to the plumbing overview diagram." Diagram is at pag 10. Here on this website I saw in two different threads that it is suggested to install it between the pump and the filter, instead. My questions are:

1) Do you think I will not be able to reach the set temperature by leaving where it is?
2) If I should move it, should I move it between the pump and the filter, or between the filter and the heater? And what is the reason to have it on one location rather than the other?

The water temperature sensor needs to go before the heater inlet, not after.

Your water temperature readings will not be correct when your heater is running with the sensor as currently placed and the OmniLogic will shut down the heater prematurely.

It does not matter if the sensor is between the pump and filter, or filter and heater, either will work fine. After the filter protects the sensor from damage from debris the pump sends into the filter.

It looks like there is another temperature sensor on the outlet side of the pump. If that one is used for the automation it should work fine, I’m not sure what the sensor at the output of the heater is for though.

OmnniLogic can have 4 temperature sensors installed. They are then configured in the "Configuration Wizard" menu. As three sensors (water, air, solar) come in the package, the installer may have thought all three needed to be installed. Hopefully the one right after the pump (which would last longer if plumbed after the filter) is configured as water temp sensor.

I see. And I guess solar T sensor and standard T sensor for heater are the same sensor and interchangeable, right? Am I good as long as I make sure that the one upstream the filter is the one plugged in the right low voltage slot (SENS 1 Pool in pic below, got the picture from this video, not my panel, I am a bit scared of open the panel myself)? If the sensor upstream the filter is plugged as solar instead, should I ask the spa guy to flip it with the Sens1 wire or can I or him just do it from the GUI?

It doesn't look like you have more than one attached, the air temp sensor, which is hanging below the panel. The wire from the sensor right after the pump should be in the to two slots of that connector. Doesn't matter which color is in which slot.
