Pool newbie.....I have a Heyward SP23520VSP and have pop ups. Pool is roughly 10k gal. Looking for the best setup for efficiency and proper pop up function.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Welcome to TFP.

By pop ups you mean an In-Floor Cleaning system (IFCS)?

What system do you have?

How many pop ups?

Do you also have regular returns?

How do you chlorinate your pool?

@proavia can help you with that.

Please create your signature with details of your pool and equipment so we can know what you have.

Welcome to TFP!

In your profile, change the zipcode to city, state.

You need to run the pump at a high enough speed and long enough time to allow the IFCS to clean the pool. You will need to determine what that time and RPM is as each pool is different. Additional run time, at a lower RPM, can be used for skimming, generating chlorine (if you have a SWG), etc.

Run the pump for a purpose.

Some choose to run their VSP 24/7 and others for fewer hours per day. It's really up to you and your pool's needs.
I run mine 24/7/365 by choice. 20 hours at 1200 rpm and 4 hours at 2800 rpm (two 2 hour blocks for my IFCS).

Yes, in-floor cleaning system.
Not sure of system.
13 pop ups
Regular returns
In-line chlorinator

Thank you

Can you post the filter pressure at these speeds?

The manual should specify the flow and pressure for the system.

The flow required depends on the number of heads per zone, the head orifice size, the distance that the water jet needs to shoot out of the nozzle etc.

Each system comes with an engineering plan that describes the operation.

Contact the manufacturer to get a copy of the diagram.

In-Floor systems are incredibly inefficient.

Just adjust the flow until the pressure seems to be good for the purpose.

3000 12psi
2400 7psi
1725 5 psi
1000 0 psi
12psi (at the filter) would not normally be enough to run any IFCS correctly that I know of…though it could be close. There are probably some valves set incorrectly for the IFCS…do you have valve automation and pictures (fill out your signature as mentioned earlier)? On the other hand, if your pool is caged and gets little debris (as many in Florida are), you may not need to run your IFCS at normal pressures to stir things up.
