Hello,

I just moved to a new house with a pool that has pop ups and QuickSkim, my previous pool had a pool cleaner vaccuum and a skimmer and it was easy to clean. This new pool is a completely different system for me and it would be great to get some direction on how to take care of it:
  1. Some of the pop ups are missing which I know I need to replace. Those have lifetime warranty so Iḿ in the process of getting those fixed
  2. There is no return jets only pop ups and a single return stream below the QuickSkim as part of the system. Where do I pour the liquid chlorine?
  3. RIght now the floor of the pool is full of dust mainly because the pop ups are not working properly, any tips on how to get the floor of the pool clean in the meantime?
Thanks in advance for the advise,

@proavia may be of help with your IFCS.

Pour it into the deep end and then stir the water in the area around using your pool brush.

No good way. If you got a robot cleaner it may be hung up on your pop-ups.

Pool Service companies have standalone cleaners like...

Thanks for the response! Would the QuickSkim have enough suction to use a manual vacuum like this one: Pool Vacuum?
You would need to use a skimmer plate. You can not connect the vac hose directly to the skimmer suction port as the venturi parts are in the way of fully accessing the suction port.
Turn off the valve that sends water to the QuikSkim as well. Leave the skimmer basket in the skimmer. You will also need a vacuum hose and a sturdy pool pole, in addition to the vacuum head.

The single "return steam" below the skimmer weir door opening is how the venturi action works. It is usually a lot less flow than a normal return.

The A&A lifetime warranty applies only to the original owner as I recall. No idea if that has changed since Pentair bought A&A. If that is the case, there are several online retailers that offer the A&A popups for less than A&A retail price. Some may provide a discount if you order in quantity.

Check that the gear set in the water distribution valve is working properly as well.

How much dust are you talking about? Try brushing it S-L-O-W-L-Y toward the main drains. Be sure the pump is on high speed and that the main drain/skimmer valve is set to put 100% from the main drain. It may take a while, but it should work pretty well.

There is a lot of dust and leafs at the bottom of the pool. I will have to drain the pool since the CYA is really high, I had to dilute the sample twice and I think CYA is 400+ at a minimum. I have multiple trees outside the property that are part of the HOA so I will always have leaves falling into the pool.
