Aqualink RS trigger VSP Speed when heating

I know I'm probably missing something. But digging through the manual I can't seem to find an answer.

How do you trigger a higher pump speed when the heater needs to turn on to maintain temp? Right now, I have a "Heat Pool" OneTouch button that sets the pump to a certain speed, and enables Temp 1 setting. However, this seems to override my schedule and the pump speed never goes back down to my normal low speed setting.

What am I missing here? Thanks.
 
Not many people are using the OneTouch controller with a VS pump. I think most have upgraded to iAqualink which has an improved UI.

With iAqualink you set a VS Speed to run when the heater is on. I don;t know if you can do that association with the OneTouch Controller...

I dont have the OneTouch controller. Was referring to the OneTouch macros in iAquaLink.

How does it know to enable your "Pool Heat" speed when the heater kicks on without manually selecting it?

Oh, then you don’t need to create a OneTouch button.

The speed label is one of the special labels that the Aqualink uses to know what speed to run the pump at whenever the heater is running.

Post what your VSP Speed Setup page shows.

I missed the link you posted. Thanks for that. It looks like it should speed up automatically based on my Temp 1 VSP speed. Will test it out. Thanks!

I renamed Temp 1 to Pool Heat. does it trigger on the label itself? Should I change it back?

Changed the speed label back to "Temp 1". And turned off my special OneTouch macro. The pump speed went down to 1750 (my scheduled speed) and heater went into standby even though the temp is well below my maintain temp.Screenshot_20230929-191446.pngScreenshot_20230929-191431.png
 
BTW : the OneTouch buttons are useless do yourself a favor and don't use them.

Is your heater set to remote mode?

Post a print screen of the main aqualink page.
 
It might be on cool down mode from running. Give it 10 minutes.

Also I think your speeds are too low for the heater. Mine is set to 3000.

Yes. It's set to remote mode. It controls the heater just fine. Just trying to figure out why it's not automatically increasing speed.

Could be. I'll leave it alone for a bit and see what it does.

2450 seemed to make it kick on, but I'll try higher.

Change both temp1 and 2 to the same speed. I use temp2 for the lowest I want the pool like during the week and then temp1 for when we swim at a higher temp.

Got it. It was just me being impatient. Once I switched the label to Temp 1 and let it do it's thing. It ramped up to 3000rpm and started heating.
