Identify Pool Equipment

They appear to be intake/suction covers for some type of a water feature/waterfall. If so, it's a single line split into two to comply with VGB Act anti-entrapment requirements.
Think they could be main drains? I do not have the traditional drain in the bottom etc?

Could be, but not all pools have main drains. Do you have any water features? Kinda hard to tell from the photos, but are they drain covers?
I don’t. Probably stupid question but how do I tell if they are drain covers?

Turn the pump on. Is water coming out of them? They have been used as a return fitting in some cases. Put a small amount of food coloring as a dye in front of them. Does it get pulled in?

Appreciate all the info. Looks like they are neither pulling or pushing water. Maybe they were installed when pool was built for future upgrades etc? No need to spend more time on this topic since they look to be inactive. Thanks!
