For the filter to make noise, I assume you have water going through it.
What type of pump do you have? Does the filter make this noise all the time? Can you post pictures of your equipment setup?

There are several threads here on the forum about the Extreme filters rattling around a bit inside. A couple DIY shim techniques to help keep it in place. You might try a quick search. If you can't find it, I'll try to come back and post them here for you.
