It's a hot weather we're having in TX.
Recently while swimming decided to inspect water line. Went around pool in water and started brushing well. Noticed maybe 30 spots total, largest ones no bigger than 3mm. Circumference about 22'+45'+22'+45'=134'.

Wondering, if I notice d these, should I do something asap or was a good brushing sufficient? I assume it goes without question to keep fc high. I noticed in readings records uve been slipping adding chlorine so over last couple weeks fc been bou cing between about 8 and 4. I'd add some then forgrt, etc. Cya is at 60, in process to raise to 70 as pool in full sun most of day.
These spots are really dark brown going on black. Slimy when touched.

Advice appeeciated.

Cool. Brushed entire waterline real well, but think I'll get bleach into a bowl and will use rough pad with it over entire waterline again. Maybe today. Local store tells me shock immediately but I'm suspicious since they're ready to bill Mr for shock. I'd rather stick with advice from here.
Been trying compare my readings to store over time just to see, and it's become very apparent that especially pH, cya and ta, they routinely get very very different from my readings. I always use my kit results, was just trying to track them vs me. Very different. I'm sticking with my results for sure.

I did a test for FC yesterday 930p.
Repeated today at 1100a.
FC was
930p: 11.0
1100a: 9.5

Is this a meaningless test or is there a way to extrapolate something here.
Lost 1.5ppm in 13.5 hours.
9 of them were in dark, 4.5 after daylight.

Would 1.5 be reasonable usage in that time/light pattern?
Was too lazy get put of bed at night. Thanks in advance to any guru that can comment on it.

Cool. Looks like I'll shoot for tonight. Have to be up for work early. With tx sun I'd expect de ent usage.
I upped my cya to 70 as previous years experience taught me good $ lesson of keeping it low.

Not planning to raise anymore though.

My full results today 11am were:
FC: 9.5
CC: 0.0
pH: 7.4
TA: 75
CH: 500
CYA: 70
TEMP: 87F
CSI: -0.080

Be sure the UV device is powered off if doing an OCLT. They consume some of your chlorine, if the bulb is new.
Also no trichlor in the Nature2 thing.

You can unplug it. If you have not put a new bulb in it in the last 6 months or so, it is not doing anything anyway.

Good to know about the uv bulb. Tried unplugging but it's hard wired. I'll have to one day open the box and just turn it off to save power. Tx has enough uv. Yeah, nevervchanged bulb since new in late 2020.
It does not ru overnight anyway. I run pool schedule starting 8a to 9p, varying speeds.
