Green hair?

Yes, for the most part but now she won’t swim. Interesting part is my son has blond hair and he’s spent more time in the pool than anyone and I don’t see any green in his.

If his is naturally blonde it probably has more yellow/gold tones than bleached white hair where all the pigments are removed and the green may be less obvious.
I am still very curious to see the filters. Have you noticed any blue or green staining anywhere?

Check their haircare, shampoo, products for any ingredient, compound, peptide, complex that mentions the word copper, and, which the son may not use. It's in some haircare products and absorbed in hair. A chlorinated pool may the catalyst in drying out the hair, bleaching slightly, which is causing the copper to stain hair.

Not green/blue but they sure were dirty after only a few weeks.

That’s great news about the filters!
Perhaps it’s not the pool after all & something in one of their beauty products, hair dyes are known to contain metals such as copper.
If someone did add copper containing algaecides one time & you do have some in the water, the level should go down as you replace water due to splashout & drain for excess rain. It should not return since you’re not adding anymore copper containing products. To avoid future mystery- ask what products are going to be added at opening/closing before it happens so you can put the kabosh on it if there’s something you don’t want & so you’re aware of all that’s added to your pool.
