hello all. opened today in NEPA.

1. I over shot lowering my PH as always. I dosed little by little but my last dose drove me down to 7.5 instead of 7.8 where I wanted to be. so between my CH being only 125 and PH low and water only 42 degrees needless to say my CSI is in the hole. like almost -1.00. I assume its ok if it's not in range for a week till I get things under control?

2. I added 20 lbs of CH today so far. how long till I can get an accurate remeasure? I'm taking that up to 350 to help that CSI. I got to buy more I cleaned Wally World out.

thanks as always!! most out of whack my water has ever been coming out of winter sleep. tile is perfect though and plaster looks fine.

TA matters.
Slowly add your calcium. I would circulate it for a few days, test, and add some more. The plaster will not melt off the walls.

lol ok so wait a few days. no problem. I thought that was for CYA only. ok good to know.

TA is 60-70. when I test its 60 one test I redo it and then its 60 or 70. so I'm assuming 60.

FC is set at 8 right now.
cya is literally 0. I tested that twice. adding cya now at my jet in sock hanging ike always. put in a water bath to get to 70 degrees like I usually do when I open cause I knew it should be brought up.
TA 60-70. didn't touch
CH 125 added 20 lbs. so no where near enough to get to 350 so I should be save.
PH 7.5
salt. didn't even bother right now cause it's off and doesn't swing that csi much.
water 42

thats where I am at.

that plaster better not melt off the walls!

just added my test results. I forgot to. yah I'm using the app. always have. I didn't enter my numbers. I put them on paper still. I got a journal from 5 years now. so I can flip back whenever I want. easier for me that way, but I always use the app to figure out everything. let me link that in a bit.

Absolutely find to keep the results in a journal - but also enter in the app. This makes it easier for us to see them quickly without you having to post them (or sometimes forget).

ok I'm linked can u see it. I added everything I did today and just did a full new set as of right now except cya cause it's going in now. I tested CH even though I just added it this afternoon. so my add times are off cause I just logged it but everything has been going in all day.

I'm going to squeeze out the cya again till dark to get it done and add more liquid chlorine so I can get a higher level to sanitize the water since it just opened. I didn't want to take it past 10 today will I balanced out ph which is did a horrible job of again this year enough though I dosed 3 times and measured after 1 hr each time or greater.

I can not. Did you use the same account in PoolMath and in the forums?
If you click on your profile pic, it will show you your own PoolMath logs if properly linked.

It can take a little while for the electrons to all cross paths. Give it a few hours.

so I should just sit tight tonight obviously but can I take my FC up past 10 so I can get rid of some of the worm stains on the plaster from winter. I usually do that and it clears them up by next morning when I go above 10 after opening up. I know my ph is low so it will go up once cya is finished so I don't really need to check it for a few days.

yes. you can raise your FC to 10 ppm.
ok thanks alot all for the help. I mean I should know all this by now but with closing and not doing anything over winter I get rusty.

I appreciate it as always.

so for future reference do you guys think I should hold my TA but get my CH up to 350. in my area with our rain and summers my CH only ever goes down never up throughout the summer so I could even go higher if I wanted without fear of it getting out of control.

I'm taking CYA to 50-60.
I'm not touching SALT yet.
PH I was going to let climb to 8.0 and drop to 7.8 only as needed while water is cold cause higher PH helps with colder water to balance out CSI.

How does al l that sound? anything else?
