Been a member here for a few years with Intex above ground pools. Finally biting the bullet and going in-ground.

We decided on fiberglass for the quick install and ease of maintenance. The available sizes and shapes were all fine with us.
Going with saltwater. I've had the saltwater units on the Intex pools too.
No heater yet, but we will be adding that before the fall.
We are in Houston, TX so the pool will never be "closed" and will be nice to get a little extended swimming time beginning/end of season.
Dig day should be end of this week. Supposedly they will be digging thursday and dropping the pool in friday, weather permitting.
Only extras we added is two deck jets along the long side. Plus the extra concrete and the salt system.
Model is the Dynasty 30 (14'6" x 30') in Exuma Silver.

Here's a couple pics. The "Before" shot, and a render I did showing concrete plan. Just the standard 3' perimeter with the extra concreted up to the back porch.
The circle is the old flat area where our most recent walmart pool was. You can also see we had to take down the dying tree... which was also partly in the way. We are on a corner lot with the street on the other side of that left fence so that is where the crane will be lifting the pool over the fence.

Will update this thread with plenty of pics as things progress!

How exciting! Take a bazillion pics during the process. So lucky to have that side street access...sure beats going over the house <gulp!>.

Do you know if they're using gravel underneath and for backfill? That's preferred.

Keep us posted, ok?

Thanks! Yes, crushed stone base and backfill. :)

Congratulations 🥳 🏖️
What swg, pump, & filter did you get? Do you know how many gallons your pool will be? Add all the deets to your signature so you can get quick responses if needed.
Just going with the standard equipment from AquaPools. 10,000 gallons.
-Hayward Aqua Rite S3 salt system
-Hayward MaxFlo VS
-Hayward Swim Clear Filter

We already hit the sewer pipe! The home builder was supposed to angle it away from the house. Told them multiple times. Plumber already onsite to fix it. Pool now shifted over a couple feet.

Your signature shows the 15k gal rated cell, any chance you could upgrade that to the 25k gal rated cell before it’s installed?
it might cost a little more but it would be worth it considering your location & long pool season.
A larger cell allows you to run it at a lower % or for less time in turn allowing the cell to live longer in people years 🤣 since all swg cells have a finite lifespan of around 7-10k hours @100%. The more you run it the faster you deplete its life.
The gallon rating system works like this, a cell rated for 15k gallons will only adequately chlorinate that correlating sized pool if run at 100% 24 hrs a day. There’s not much wiggle room when sized this way.
That 15k rated cell only produces .53#/ day which means you would need to run it @100% for at least 12 hrs a day to net around 3ppm in your pool volume.
The 25k rated cell produces almost double that amount @ .98#/ day allowing you to have plenty of chlorine production potential if needed & not having to depend on long runtimes/high percentage to adequately chlorinate.
This is why tfp recommends a swg that is rated for at least 2x’s your pool’s volume.

Your home is beautiful😍! I'm sure the pool will be the cherry on top! 🍨
Aw, thanks! :)

SWEET!!! Do you have your test kit yet? If not better get on it as you are going to have water soon!!!

Thanks! Yes, I have it. It's in my signature. :) It's the K-2005 i've been using on our previous Intex above ground pools.

We have water! But it's nassssty. LOL! Took 33 hours with the garden hose to get this far.
