My Jandy VSP FloPro (2 years old) started making an odd noise on startup. Sounds like you can actually hear fan blades starting to turn and once up to full speed can’t hear them as much.
My pump motors have two cheap bearings (about five dollars in the auto parts stores for the good Japanese NSK brand) which I replace every few years after having one of them seize up and as a result it screamed like a banshee upon startup).
The hardest part of replacing or checking the pump motor bearings is taking the pump apart because of the rusted very thin (#10?) really long (18 inches?) bolts.
They break easily.
