I am interested in converting the fittings on my above ground pool from 1 1/4" to 1 1/2". I upgraded my pump to a 3/4 hp and feel the smaller hoses are limiting my pump's true ability. I've seen the type B adapters on Amazon but those don't seem like a true solution. I feel I need to make the openings in the pool a full 1 1/2". What are my options?

You can buy standard above ground return fittings, do you currently have a skimmer.
There’s a kit that comes with both.
Hayward SP1091LX Dyna-Skim Above-Ground Pool Skimmer https://a.co/d/gyyyoVf
I have a skimmer but it is the one that hangs over the pool rail. I don't have one built into the pool. I would have to cut the pool wall to use the one you suggest. It's that ok to do?

Lots of people do it as an upgrade when they are converting everything else.
There’s lots of threads here about it also many videos & pics in the reviews of that kit on amazon.
You will need to make cuts to upgrade the return jets. They do sell those separately as well. Otherwise it’s down to using the adapters with what is already there.

Thanks. I like that kit. I'm tired of having my skimmer hanging over the edge of my pool. Lol

you have no reason to increase the size of your plumbing as it is just fine. All you are doing is increasing your electrical watts for no reason. A larger pipe costs more watts with equal run time.
