Once you have salt concentration with the range for a SWCG to work does it matter what your salt level is?

for example do you get more chlorine generation if there's 3000ppm vs 2000ppm say (no other changes made to SWCG run time / power setting)

There is a high salt on my IC60 when it will stop generating chlorine. There is also an low salt when it stops generating. Pentair has an ideal setting of, I believe, 3600 ppm. However, testing with the Taylor K-1766, I keep the salt level wherever the IC60 salt cell shows "good salt".

How do you test your salt? Drop based test of test strips? Or even the salt cell itself?

I have heard Circupool likes higher levels around 3800 to 4000..Also, read here some of the Hayward systems can be damaged by high salt.

I have the circupool Edge40 and try to keep mine around 3500-3700

The amount of chlorine generated is not affected much at all by the salinity when you are within the given ranges set by manufacturer. SO if the manufacturer recommends 2800-4400 ppm with an "ideal" value of 3600ppm, it doesn't matter if you are at 3000 or 4000 ...

The IntelliChlor will not stop generating with high salt levels.

It will display a high salt LED to let you know and keep on generating.

There is also an low salt when it stops generating.

Correct.

Depends on the SWG what it does with high salt.
