High CL Trouble

I've been having high CL readings pretty consistently but still have CC at .5 or above often. This morning these were my readings;
FC- 7
CC- .5-.8
PH- 7.4
TA- 100
CYA- 20

I am using liquid chlorine on an automatic feed system. During these hots days I am having a lot of swimmers and I am scared to turn the chlorine down to much. Any suggestions on avoiding having to buy shock or should I just dump some liquid chlorine in?

Your CYA is very low for your climate. I would suggest adding 20-30 ppm CYA.

You have enough chlorine in your pool. No reason to add more. as mknauss says, bring your CYA up to about 50-60 and be prepared to reduce your chlorine.

If your CC is above .3 I thought it means you need to shock the pool?

CC below 1 is fine.
