Hello

I have an Intermatic Timer T104

I had the manual toggle start last night but found the pump had not started

As soon as I opened the lid of the timer, te pump started. The opening of the timer lid triggered the pump to start up
I thought that was a fluke

Then I tested the toggle again to start at 5 PM and the pump did not start. I actuallyy replaced the toggles with new toggles

As soona as I opened the lid to the timer, the pump started at the verys instant the lid opened

That is weird

So the toggle is actually the moving the switch button to ON but the pump is not starting until I open the lid

Any ideas?

Thanks

The mechanical timers wear out.

Replace the mechanism with a T104M.

Thanks What is weird is that the motor is running and so are the gears as the pole is in On position. The opening of the lid triggers the pump

What could that be? I am Ok to replace the Timer but I am not sure if that will be the fix as the timer seems to be doing what it is supposed to I guess

Thanks

I don’t have the timer in my hands to examine it. The relay contacts can be worn. It is all mechanical and when new it all works fine. As the gears, bearings, and relay contacts wear they get out of alignment.

I am confident a new timer will work like new.

Just bought a replacement Intermatic Timer T-104
I am not an electricall savy person, so need to make some calls to get it replaced

Seems like a simple. Roughly, how much should I expect for labor? $100?
