HI joined last year and now back for another season.
Didn't do a good job off season and got a nice algea attack. Started the slam process on fri and it's coming along but seems like it's never gonna end. Logs are posted and here's the latest picture. I've also added DE as described on the forum.

Too early for the DE. Wait until you have blue and cloudy water.

Focus on chlorine. Test FC only. Test and add chlorine as often as possible. Be sure there are no solid debris in the bottom of the pool.

The green looks quite vibrant. Do you have iron in the well water?

No iron that I'm aware of.

Alright I've been slamming for 6 days, filter pressure is staying constant at 12psi, well it has been past couple of days since my last backwash.
I assume I should just stay the course?!
When should I see light at the end of my green tunnell?

Yup. It did not go green in a day and it won't be fixed in one either. How about some new pics to see the progress ?

Sooner than later.

How often are you testing ?

I will get some pictures tomorrow, doesn't look much different though.
I'm testing before work in the morning and having wife add chlorine at lunchtime, then I test at least 2 more times after I get home from work. Weekend coming up so I can watch it closer, I started last Friday and was on top of it for 3 days straight. I'm probly in good shape but it will be nice to see it starting to clear😊😊

Is is looking clearer (clarity wise) but just still the vibrant green? A pic looking down at the steps or with a pole in the water is helpful.

Ok sorry didn't get pics yesterday but here they are. Pole for perspective. 1st Pic is with pole slightly submerged and other Pic with it touching the bottom.
Yep still pretty green and today makes day 8 of slamming! Hope I see results soon!

The clarity says you are still fighting algae & the vibrancy says possibly metals too.
Keep with slam-
do u have any polyfill (pillow stuffing)? Try putting some in the skimmer & see what it collects. I’m thinking your well likely has iron.
Alternatively,
Have u used any copper containing things that say “blue” in the name - many pucks, shock products & algeacides contain copper & green water can be the result.

I've only used TFP guide for my pool since day one so no other chemicals!
I've ordered water test from Amazon that tests iron and copper and should be here Sunday.
I will see if we have any polyfill and if not grab some at wallyworld.
Any thing else I need to do?
Thanks for all the help!

Stay the course and test/add as often as you can. Hopefully the weekend buys you more time to be around. Anyone else in the house that can be trained to test FC ? If you traded off you could get 4 hours away each with 2 people alternating at the 2 hour mark. Even if they messed up a couple of FC either testing or adding, you'd be gaining tons of ground.

The kits that are accurate to test for metals at home are quite pricey- so this is the one set of tests that we actually recommend you visit the dreaded pool store for.
Taylor has the K-1716 - Iron Test Kit that sells for around $100.[1]

Taylor Technologies also has the K-1264 Commercial (uses Midget comparators), Copper, 0.2-3.0 ppm/Iron, 0-2.0 ppm that sells for around $150.[2]

Since u have never added any potions- the likely culprit is iron.
See what $5 worth of polyfill catches.
