Imagine Illusion 40 Complete 10/19/21

I got to swim yesterday with my 2 beautiful nieces and my brother. The pool was 87°! They heat pump and solar cover are worth every single penny and it truly only took one good day of 80° temps to raise it quickly. The second day of 80° temps took care of the bottom of the pool. I freaking love that heater!!! Temps are supposed to dip into the 50s this week but I'm going to keep it going to see how it does. If I see it struggle I'll shut it down but I dont think it should considering I'm keeping it covered at night. I do pull the cover daily to burn off excessive CCs.

I know u love the heater - but I doubt will u love the utility bill. That will be the true test of your love ❤️ 🤣
Glad y’all had a great time & I’m sure it was worth whatever it cost 💲

I'm not worried about that bill right now. I'll use my winning lotto scratcher to pay the bill this month.

I think somebody loves her pool... what do you think?

P.S. My Jandy SWG is dead. Ugh... Jandy told my builder to replace the battery pack. Its brand new and never been turned on. I've been using 2 year old 10%. I have found the solid white bottles are more concentrated than the clearer bottles. LOL

How did you know the SWG was dead? Where does it show this?

I tried to turn it on. It kept saying stand by 50%. I shut the breaker off n turned it back on. Nothing. Went back to Standby 50%. I called the builder n he came over. He called Jandy and they said it needs a new battery pack. I cant even go through any buttons, even the power button. It does not respond at all. Nothing works on it as in no buttons on it will respond when pressed.

I have never heard of a battery pack in an Aquaplus or it being required for operation.

And I don;t see anything in the manual.

Be interesting to hear what your PB actually does.

Perhaps Jandy said power pack, and the builder translated to battery?
That could be it. I'm not sure. He said he had to see if he had one. I'm not sure. I'm going to call him today after work. I'm dealing with the brother right now because builder is in CoCo Beach til next week.

I want to tile my pool. I've been noticing that my builder's guy scratched my gel coat when he was scraping the concrete off the fiberglass the whole way around the waterline. He was doing something my dad would do... using his pen knife to clean it. I'm not mad about it but I can see it. Anyone want to school me on tiling the waterline? I'd like to do a DIY.

Installing waterline tile on a fiberglass pool requires some specialized products and techniques for best results. It is different then tiling a gunite pool or a bathroom. It can be a DIY job if you are handy.

Waterline Tile Installation describes how to install waterline tile in your fiberglass pool.

You really want tile, or are you looking to hide the scratches?
It’s just gel coat, scratches can be buffed out just like on a boat, if it’s just about getting rid of scratches.

Still on the fence about it. What can I buff them out with?

Gelcoat buffing compound.

Depending on the number and depth of the scratches you may be able to start with fine compound and do it by hand.

If there are a lot of deep scratches, then you may have to start with a heavier grit and go progressively finer, and use a buffing wheel (battery operated is fine in the pool)

Will either of these 2 products work? I'll take pics of the scratches tomorrow n post them.
