I just installed the screenlogic2 system and everything works except the pump. I set the schedules for the pump and cleaner and is will not kick on. The cleaner starts for about 30 seconds to 1 minute then shuts off. I cannot get the pump to run. What am I doing wrong?

sw,

Based upon your screenshots, your pump should be running between 7 am and 4 pm...

Does the pump start at 7 am.. Forget about the cleaner for now.

Your system must be in the Auto mode and not the Service mode.

The pump's display should show "Display Not Active"..

Obviously, the RS-485 cable must be connected to the pump's control head and the other end needs to be connected to the com port inside the EasyTouch.

Check those things and tell me what you see..

Thanks,

sw,

Does the pump run if you are in the Service mode and push the button on the pump.. ?

Is this an old pump or a new pump? Do you know the part number or if the pump is a VS pump, or VSF pump?

Did the pump run ok before ScreenLogic was installed?

Thanks,

Jim R.

The pump ran fine prior to the install, we had leslies install a heater, then the hand held remote took a dump right after that. They suggested the screenlogic system. then this problem happened after that. the pump is about 7 years old, 6/13/2015,it is a pentair intelliflo variable speed p/n 353251 s/n 0333164150060t

sw,

I don't see anything obvious..

Did you ensure the pump runs in the Service mode?

Did you push the reset button on the front of the main panel.. It "might" clear something out. It takes a few minutes for things to come back on line after pushing reset. Just like rebooting your PC.

I installed a "used" card in my EasyTouch and it still had an old program in it. I just changed everything to what I needed and thought it would run. But it had all kinds of weird issues that were hidden. To fix the problem I had to reset the EasyTouch to default which deletes all the memory. Pretty easy to add it back using ScreenLogic. Not sure that is your problem, but something you could try.

Is your old remote still connected? If so, disconnect it.

One final thought.. Make sure the pump address is #1.. You have to use the pump's display and menu to find and/or change the pump's address.

Sorry, but I don't see what the problem is.

Thanks,

Jim R.

it does not run in service mode, but when he cleaner comes on it runs for about one minute then shuts down. I will try the reset.
I called leslies and have a technician coming out on the 13th to look at it and install a new actuator. Hopefully he can figure it out.
The only thing I can think of is the system was installed in 2006. Maybe the motherboard has issues but everything else works?
Thank you so much for your time and expertise. Keep up the good work and advice.

SW,

To be clear. In the service mode you should have to use the pump's control panel to run the pump. Are you saying you tried to manually run the pump from the pump's control panel and it will not run?

sw,

If the screen on the pump is blank, when in the Service mode, it is because your pump is not wired correctly. An IntelliFlo should get constant AC power. I suspect that your pump is wired to the Load side of the pump/filter relay, which is incorrect. That said, it should not prevent the pump from running when in Auto.

Since I am out of good ideas, here is another one. If your pump is wired to the load side of the pump filter relay, it could be that the relay is bad and only letting half of the 240 get to the pump. The display and control head appear to run on 120 volts, so it is possible the that control head works, but the pump itself will not.

As a test, with the system in Auto, use a voltmeter and measure the voltage between L1 and L2 right at the pump and make sure you have 240 volts. Only measure between L1 and L2, do not measure to ground as that can give you a false reading.

Thanks,

Jim R.
