New pool build - Plaster 5-4-22(Southern California)

R2,

I have a dedicated vacuum line and have never used it, as I use a low voltage Robot cleaner.

That said, I agree with Matt, that it makes sense to have it installed when the pool is built. The additional cost is miniscule.

Thanks,

Jim R.

It’s fine to have a vacuum port. I have one. When your robot fails you can use a manual vacuum head to clean your pool. Believe me, they do come in handy as my robot is currently in the hospital and my only way to clean the pool is to manually vacuum.

Lol I hope they’re able to resuscitate! Thanks I’ll leave it in.

And it’s already in so less than minuscule haha. I was just wondering if it has the potential to cause problems down the line. Sometimes less is more. Thanks, one less thing to talk to PB for. Every question is like pulling teeth

In what seemed like a more difficult decision than naming our son, we decided on our pool finish. Going with NPT aqua white mini pebble with abalone and a two bag mixture of Puerto Rico blend.

Lol I didn’t notice your profile picture on this post. How far along are you?

We are awaiting to be scheduled for tile; currently looking at the end of this month. After that, we have pebble which they say they are trying to schedule us for mid march.

It's taken longer than expected and like everyone else, I'll be glad when it's done and the build will just be a distant memory.

Yeah. It ah, has not been a fun process.

Plumbing 95% complete. They messed up the location of the led bubblers and Baja light as they were supposed to be in the middle. I decided to leave the bubblers where they are though and move the Baja deck light to the center to keep the light even and try and avoid shadows from the bubblers as much as possible. Pool lights were where the skimmers are, but I had those moved about 2’ towards the deep end as I felt like they were too close to the Baja deck. None of the changes probably make a difference but I’m happy. The 6 pipes coming off of the bench seat are going to be bubble jets/returns. Gunite Tuesday!

Gunite shot yesterday. Can’t believe how quickly we went from a huge hole to a pool.

Wish I would have gone deeper on the bench, they offered to chip it down but I’m worried that would mess with the integrity of the concrete.

We’re changing the location of the umbrella holders to a single one middle front of the shelf.

Really happy for the most part with out it’s coming out.
