I'm having a new pool installed this coming spring. One of the requirements for the fence permit is that I have a self-closing/locking gate for my fence (which will be the existing fence around my yard and not the pool directly), AND that there is no quick release from the outside of the fence. I already have spring hinges for the self-close, but will need to replace the locking mechanism to eliminate my outside quick release.
I have the permit approved waiting for the build, but I'm trying to find a solution for gaining access to my backyard without a "quick release" on the outside of the gate. My gate is 6 ft tall, so my kids/wife are too short to try and use one of those standard pool gate latches that are attached to the inside of the gate and you pull upward to release.
Does anyone have any suggestions on smart/electronic locks that will require a code/fingerprint to release the lock from the outside for the gate? We do a lot in our backyard, and going in/out will be a real pain if I can't open the gate from the outside in some fashion.
