I want to swim today-sparky pool with little green powder in bottom

My pool is sparkling and clear but when I brush I have green powder in spots again

I really want to swim today, can I or is it dangerous

cya at 100
Free and reg chlorine at 9

How are you testing your pool water chemistry? Update your signature on what you are using.

If the CYA is at 100, then a FC above 7,5 ppm is safe to swim in.

Sorry with the dot cya tester and other brand tests recommended bought individually vs a kit

ok I’m swimming then.
I had this problem before using tabs ...I did the slam I guess it was back in June/July after overflowing my pool for 42 hours and switched to liquid chlorine and had no problems ...kept my cya around 55-60 I’m full sun no trees in Houston area.

then I got lazy and wanted to use the remainder of my tabs in the bucket around second week of sept ... and now back above 100

... I’ll get the energy to overflow and slam and hubby clean filters and go back to liquid in a few weeks.. it’s so much easier doing tabs in the chlorinator vs chlorine every day it splashes on my pant legs and I just don’t like pouring and breathing it.. but here I am again right back where I started

Please update your signature.

Put in a SWCG. Or if your water is cheap, drain 1/3 the volume and replace with fresh every month if you wish to use trichlor.

To prevent bleach "polka dots", open the liquid chlorine bottle, lower into the water and tip to pour
when the spout is near the water. Easy and no splash back. Cap it, dunk it to rinse off. Done.

Update I turned pumps off and put a hose in the bottom of the deep end anchored. Overflowing the pool for 3 days. Got cya down to 50 with the dot test . I put 3 bags of shock in it knowing this will raise my cya ( I like it around 60-I’m full sun Houston) I mixed and turned water features on for a bit and put all my equipment in including Polaris (Henry)” going to run pump for 24 hours

How does it all look today? Good idea to put everything in to deep clean it.

If is a good thing to run the water feature at least every other day for a small bit to make sure the water in the lines is "fresh".

I did the same when adding liquid. On my knees, bottle in the water and tipped to let it pour directly into the water without splashing but I'd also dunk the bottle at the end to add some pool water and then drain to rinse out the last bit of bleach from the bottle. That way you're getting all you pay for and whoever might have to process the plastic if it's recycled isn't going to come in contact with anything.

It looks soooooo amazing and really only ever looked this good when I was using liquid chlorine! Absolutely no green powder at the bottom...I have maybe 12 tabs left in going to use those and I’m going back to liquid chlorine....I’m in love with the pool again

I still have all the equipment in there sanitizing, will take out in an hour, but you can see, no green crystal clear...I hate cya and it’s effects when too much... this is beautiful...I’m so excited.
