Hot tub moving - is this idea good bad or ugly?

Loaded and on the way back took about 20 mins to get on the trailer but another hour to package strap and get out of the backyard. Man that was right as heck.

Woot Woot, getting closer all the time!!
Yep couple more hours and we will be home. Hasn’t been too bad. Moving the tub on th trailer wasn’t bad at all. It was on a short deck that was about trailer height and we maneuvered the trailer as close as possible. Used a cart to prop the tub up enough to get a block of wood underneath a of it and then 2 of us lifted it up above the trailer height the other two pushed it on and we were loaded. Propped it up and slid a 4x4 under each side and then packed it up

Getting out of their backyard was huge pain but nevertheless we got out.

Nice family tub looks really good. One ding next to a valve diverter so not sure what happened there. Electronics and pump area looked really good and clean. Can already tell I am going to dislike the speaker wires in that door panel it’s annoying and gets in the way but minor complaint.

looking forward to getting home

Move crew will be at the house at 9 am electrician out around noon to finish the hook up. So if all goes well I can put water in it late tomorrow to check for leakage etc.

Well it’s in. Just need to get the cover and lifter on and put in place. Electrician will be here in about 2 hours to wire it up.

Took the team of 3 about 30 mins from trailer to down. They were very tidy and safe with each step. As mentioned by many of you they made it look easy.

Hot tub party at G's place!
Glad your adventure went well. Let us know if you have any questions.

I am sure I will. Things are headed in the right direction for sure. Electrician getting the wiring finished up now. I had to go get a different breaker for the main panel, seems there are 2 different ones and well I got the wrong one, lol. Simple fix with a trip to HD.

Once they are done I'll get to the clean up, fill up and ahhsome purge work. Got some clean up work to do first. As I mentioned I covered the tub in moving quilts - BIG MISTAKE. They put a bunch of black fuzzy residue in the tub that I have to wipe out now, really sucks. Should have done just the weatherproof tarp not the quilt. Oh well lesson learned.

Goal for today is to get the purge/clean all done and filled back up with water so I can watch for leaks for a while and of course verify everything works.

Just gonna keep moving along for now.

All wiped down And the fill begins. Checking everything for leaks etc as we go.

ahhsome going in once full. I know it’s going to gross me out. Sadly no sump pump available so will have to do gravity drain unfortunately so this will take longer than normal. Sump pump ordered from Amazon today so will have it for the future.

If you have a large diameter hose you can just siphon, I use a hose from my pool vac I no longer use, takes no time at all..

You can buy a vacuum hose.

Get a 1.5" x 50 foot vacuum hose and something to weigh down the end in the water that won't scratch the tub's surface.

Fill the vacuum hose from a garden hose and drop the end in the yard.

Or, you can wait for three hours watching the hot tub drain through a tiny 3/4' garden hose.

My foam didn't get nice and thick during the Ahh-Some purge, I think because it was getting sucked down into the filter with the "weir ring". In hindsight, I probably should've pulled the weir ring out to stop the skimming. I did the purge with the old goobered up filter in the hole so I wasn't concerned about clogging it with purge-poo. Had some lovely green and brown snot in the foam though.

Make sure you get as much of the boogers out of the foam and waterline before draining, because if not there will be random blobs all over the place once drained. Wipe everything down good with a cleaner and hose everything down good after that. Blow and suck out all the lines with a shop vac after that. If your jets come out, wipe them out as well. The name of the game is to get as much of the crud water out before refilling!
