Possibly black algea

Is it necessary to drain then acid wash an inground finite pool to get rid of the algea? Asking for a friend, he thinks it’s black algea.

Black algae grows in the small holes in a plaster finish. It looks kind of like tiny little spots on the sides of the pool.

Those pictures are not that. That's just a plain old green algae bloom. SLAM Process would fix it.

That’s what I thought. He insist the black algae is there and has been a couple of years. Says water has been in pool 7 years and hasn’t touched pool since last season
