Hi

can I ask when you say stabiliser, do you mean stabilised chlorine? I can’t find “stabiliser” I’m in the Uk.

my pool is above ground.

my readings are below.

I just wanted to check, that I’m supposed to add ph reducer? (Got a bottle left from last yr) And that’s all?

many thanks
H

TFP means dry stabilizer/conditioner, Cyanuric Acid. You can use stabilized chlorine (dichlor/trichlor) but must stop using it when your CYA level gets to your target.

pH reducer is dry acid. Not the best product to use in a pool but less of an issue with an above ground, vinyl liner pool. You would add dry acid to lower your pH and TA. Then aeration is used to raise pH. Then when it gets to 7.8 or above, use dry acid again to lower the pH and TA.

Always keep pH in the 7's, especially on the low side. So do not lower pH below 7.2.

hi here’s my results. I don’t have stabiliser and today is a public holiday so o can’t get it till tomorrow. I have stabilised cl.

shall I continue with the ph-?

ty

Sure. When your pH reaches 7.8 to 8, lower it to 7.4 with acid. Over time your TA will reduce.

Hi

today’s log, I’ve just added the required bleach

water is cloudy with greenish tinge should I slam, leave or algacide? . Kids did lose a battery in there a couple of days ago it’s come out rusty.

A battery is doubtful to have added much iron.
You should follow the SLAM Process

Algaecide, at best, is a preventative, to be used when closing a pool over the winter. And only polyquat type algaecides should be used at that time.

I'm going away from tomorrow, Friday, till Sunday night. Shall i dose it up with extra bleach? I'm only supposed to put 2 litres in for Slam today. Should I add more and leave it for the weekend?

Also I can't run my pump 24/7, it makes too much noise at night, my neighbours are irate already. I can have it on a timer for 12 hours a day. Is that ok for slam? If not, what would you recommend?

Thank you so much
H

Do what you have to do. Raise the FC to SLAM level and deal with it when you come home.

Running the pump more makes the SLAM shorter. So run it as long as you can.

Hi
I had a leak & lost some water, which has helped a lot. I wasn’t sure what CSI is and if it’s important. I’m guessing add bleach for now?

best wishes
H
