No vortex in Pump Basket Compartment.

I cleaned my filters today and I can't get the pump basket to fill all the way, I also keep letting air out of the filter, everytime I turn the air release valve there is air in there. What is the best way to replace the lid on the pump basket. I have had air bubbles coming out of one of my returns.

Even a new O ring needs lube to seal properly.

Post wider pics of your equipment pad so we see what valves you have to stop water flow.
 
Turn the valve in front of your pump 180 degrees so the white triangle points to the pump and the handle points away. That shuts off the suction line into the pump. Be sure to open the valve back to its normal position before you turn on the pump.

Lets do it differently then. You have a valve on the right pipe. Rotate that so the handle is up or down to close it. Then turn the middle valve so the handle points to the right. Now both valves are closed.

Be sure you open both valves before turning on your pump.

I appreciate your help, I think since this is brand new I am going to see if they will send someone out, The O ring looks good, The pump basket just does not seem to fill all the way, and the skimmer seems like its not working properly.

Take the thumb screw all the way off and lift the handle sightly to get above the stops. Then you can close off flow.
