Brand new Circupool sj-45 shuts off after salt and cell lights turn on red

Can anyone help? I just installed a new Circupool sj45 swg and a Hayward 21” sand filter with single speed 1.5hp pump. When I turn on the swg the flow light is green, the generator light turns green and I can see the chlorine gas through the clear cell tube. It runs for maybe 30 seconds, then the salt light turns red, the cell light turns red and it shuts down. My salt is 4000ppm per Taylor tf100. All other parameters are where I want them. My water may be a bit cold at 58-60, but the water temp light doesn’t come on. Any ideas of something I may have done wrong? I did make sure the little metal piece on the cell is on top per instructions.
 
I have the RJ-45, so our scenarios very a little. A pic of your installation might help viewers. So you tested the salt with a K-1766 correct? How long ago did you put the salt in the water? The water temp may be borderline which might be skewing things a bit, but let's see if others with the SJ model have a comment. If you don't hear something back soon, you might give the guys over at Discount Salt Pols a quick call. I think they're in today.

May just be me but that flow switch location is really close to the exit of the filter. Seems like there would be a lot of turbulence right there. May not be anything.

Thanks for your help everyone. I did brush the salt and then ran my robot several times. I added the extra salt over a week ago.
the flow meter is very close to the pump,. This set up is way bigger than my Intex was and I did have to get creative to fit it all in my space. I found it odd that on the installation manual HERE, they say nothing about the flow switch. s there one with this unit? At first I was thinking that's what that knob looking thing was after the filter, but maybe not?

I suppose it's safe to say your pump and power supply are 220 volts correct? So the cell is connected to 220V?
 
That manual looks outdated. The cell looks different in the above pics. The one in the manual doesn't even show unions at the two bottom legs. Nor does it show a flow switch. This unit does come with a flow switch. She's got it installed correctly. I doubt the short distance before it makes much of a difference.

Even the control unit looks different.

It is the newest unit, it did come with the flow switch. Both the pump and the swg are on 110v. When I originally received the swg I spoke with circupool and they told me it would work with either. Electricity is not my thing, unless we are talking about your heart. Is there a reason I should have this on 220v? I have an electrician coming in 2 weeks to run more electrical to the pool pad and deck area.
 
Jean, check your manual. Mine came shipped in 220V configuration and I had to do the terminal jumper change to make it 110V. So if yours was shipped in 220V, that could be your issue. Until you are sure, I would leave the SWG off and possibly remove it from the power source if you can just to prevent potential damage. Switching the terminals from 220V to 110V is fairly straight-forward.

Our SWGs are a bit different but in my install (link below) you can see how my terminals were changed for 110V. Our SWGs can work with either 110 or 220, but the terminals have to be configured properly. Hope that helps.

 
My Edge autosenses and adjust to either. Maybe they changed the SJ also?
That sure would be nice. Jeani should be able to confirm in her manual. The SJ manual I found online required manual voltage changing, but that manual may have been revised.
 
I was told by circupool that it does auto adjust. I have turned it off and unplugged it until I can get it figured out. My husband has just told me that the breaker has blown three times since I installed the new set up. Guess I need to wait for the electrician.

Maybe that's a new version you have there. Every manual I checked online from Circupool and Discount Salt Pools has a warning about being shipping in 220V configuration. I would call DSP first thing Monday to be sure. Be sure to give your water some liquid chlorine tomorrow if needed to keep it from dropping too low while the SWG is off. Let us know what you find out.

Wiring to Power Source: The Control Module uses a switch-mode power supply designed to automatically accept either 120VAC or 220VAC (no internal adjustments are needed).

Strange ( and scary ) how it's kicking the breaker.

I think your salt may be too high and pulling too much power from the cell and the unit turns itself off.. It also may be throwing the breaker pulling to much power but I doubt that, is the pump also on the same circuit?
 
The pump and the swg are on the same circuit. The pump alone hasn’t thrown the breaker. According to Circupool there is no max salt limit. My manual say 3500+.

I think my SWG only pulls around 2 amps wide open. So that "shouldn't" over load it unless your pump is close to maxing out the existing breaker
Is the breaker a GFI or normal 110V?
Curious what discount salt thinks, could be a bad unit?
