I’d like to move my pump back about 12” but there’s only fittings and no pipe to cut. Does anyone have any advice for me on how to get this done? I have attached pictures of my setup. Thanks!

Welcome to TFP.

Why do you want to move your pump back 12"?

Welcome to TFP.

Why do you want to move your pump back 12"?

I’m installing a salt water chlorinator, flow meter, and sacrificial anode. so I’m going to be moving my filter back a bunch for room. While I do all this I would like to put in a union before the pump because I’m going to get a variable speed sometime next year.

See PVC_Repair - Uncoupling Existing PVC Components and if you can get the coupler off of the outside of the valve without damaging the valve.

If not then you may need to rebuild from the three suction pipes coming out of the ground and replace the two diverter valves..

FYI. An anode and flow meter are unnecessary to operate your pool.
The SWCG is necessary, in my opinion!

Isn't the section attached to the valve a section of 2" pipe? If you cut off the threaded coupler, a regular 2" coupler should work. Maybe I'm seeing something different.

If not, maybe you can make an inside slip connector work:

Looking again, it does look like a coupling coming off the valve. So I guess the threaded adapter is connected to the the coupling with a short section of 2" pipe?

Looks like plenty of room to me to cut that threaded fitting going to your pump off, add a coupler, and extend it as needed.

That's a coupler butted up against the threaded fitting. If I cut the threaded fitting off I'll have to remove the pipe inside the coupler to keep going.
If there is 2" pipe inside the coupler, this is where you could use the inside slip coupler.

I thought about that. I think it would be possible if I removed the motor from the pump. That would lower the diameter of the pipe going into the pump to 1.5" from 2". That's probably not a big deal right?

Depends what you have. Any water features? Worth a shot. Worst case you replace all that plumbing. I did a plumbing redo similar to yours no access and not made to ever be worked on. If it was me, I'd cut it off before the valves where it sticks up from the ground and replace the whole mess.
