Hayward multiport sp71 Spyder gasket- to glue or not?

If its a 2" valve, then the replacement gasket is available and is glued onto the keyway. If it's a 1.5" valve (which yours looks like) then I think its more common to buy the whole diverter with the gasket preglued.
I guess there's a reason they do it this way(?)
