Rusted skimmer

I'm not sure what the old man has in the garage. I'm gonna go see in the morning.

worth it to go buy one! I just did some yard furniture, started with a hand brush and quickly went to wire wheel on the cordless drill. battery didn't last long but I was too lazy to dig out the corded drill so it took me a couple of days. plenty to do while battery charges. so it was all good.

Broke out the drill and disk and I'm on my way. This is the worst of the rust. My liner started floating in this area right past the skimmer n return last year

Question time. Wondering what I should do. I know what I'm planning on doing. Just want a yes or no from others.

Was going to finish this wall here in a couple hours and my plan is to spray it down with the hose n then wipe it down n let it dry then hit it with the rustoleum. Good plan? Yes? No? And GO!!!

It's better but I'm still having to take the wire brush to it to knock of this white dust n rust dust.

Almost done. Lot of elbow grease in these walls.

I am done with these walls! I finished up about an hour ago. I came in to sit down. Took a shower n have to go to the store for the old man. When I get back, I'm going to take a bucket of soapy water n scrub them down with a scrub brush n then spray then off. Let it air dry n then take old prison tshirts n wipe them dry this evening n spray them with rustoleum. I'm getting there with my one woman team. It was good to have a plan through all of this. Its kept me on track. I've talked to my Dad a lot while I'm out there. He'd be smiling if he could see me. Still miss him terribly. Talk to him every day.

I went to the store for a few things n decided to go down to the cleaning aisle. Found one lonesome bottle of CLR. It's looking pretty dang good if I say so myself.

I've logged 10 working hours on the rust and wall today. I am so glad to report that I am DONE! UGH... I'm tired n sore. So here are the pics. All I can say is that I wish I could have found enough grey rustoleum primer because it looks brand new! It's still wet in the pic. I've got a variety of colors going on.

What is the most rust prohibitive spray paint/coating known to mankind I wonder?

i have a new pool install ahead of me, but i dont think the pool has a stainless skimmer panel.

thinking of hitting up the skimmer and return area with some self etching primer, and maybe a gloss enamel or something over that.

Right now you really dont need that. It's a brand new pool and it has a gloss finish over the bare metal.

YOU DID IT!! SWEET! LOL on the graffiti but hey it works!!

What are you doing to the floor to get it right?
Taking about an inch or 2 down and adding 1/2" insulation board n triple taping with Gorilla tape. Then putting the liner in.
