Rusted skimmer

Yea Kim, trying to get it nice. I tried last time when I installed but I was having a hard time with the old man because of the accident and he needed me more than the pool floor. It was like walking on the moon the lat several years.

I messed my foot up in it yesterday. It swelled up on me. Dang foot just never healed right after the reconstruction in Sept 2018. I'm loaded up on pain relievers right now n waiting for them to kick in and doing rotations to loosen it up. It's so sore. I iced it last night through the night n slept on the recliner. My pain tolerance is very high. I am a chronic pain sufferer so I sympathize with others who also suffer in pain and look completely normal. It's a real thing and it debilitating at times. If I weren't in pain, I'd think I was dead. I cant even favor the foot because it carries all my weight.

I had 4 people lined up and I'm back to one. Me. My step mom was chasing a pet duck yesterday and felt as though she was having a heart attack. She was saying sorry through tears n I told her dont be. I dont need her dying in my pool. I never ask the old man for help but I went out on a limb 20 minute ago n asked the old man for help with this liner later today. I have a lot of work to do so I gotta get off here n get started. I'll keep ya updated n hopefully I wont kill old man with a heart attack either. He's getting up there in age n isnt in the best of shape either. If I could just get him to hold the liner, I should be able to do this on my own.

Not sure what I hate more... fixing rusted walls or grading?! I am almost there though.

Casey............girl do what you can with what you have to work with. With you using the foam on the bottom the liner will be even easier. Like you said.......if you can get him to hold up here and here and here you can get it on the tracks. Then YOU can get it set in place. Don't forget the trick of filling trash bags with water all along the bottom right up against the wall to help hold the liner in place there.

This is when I HATE the internet!! It makes the world seem small until something like this where I want SO bad to be there to help you!!!!! GURRRRRRRRRRRR

Everyone has friends til ya need someone n no one is there. This is when perseverance comes in and you just do it because you have to.

I'm ready to drop the liner tomorrow. I worked from 0800 til 1900 with a 2 hr break to pick up supplies. I'm beat. I'm sore. I'm sunburnt too. Don't mind my trash. I will clean it Tomorrow.

I don't go back until Thursday. I have to set the liner Tomorrow because after tomorrow the temps are gonna be in the 60's. Tomorrow is high of 70s.

I'm putting the hose in as soon as the liner is set with the shop vac. Should take 2-3 days to fill.

My finger tips hurt from that gorilla tape. That stuff is strong. My back hurts from moving sand out of the pool to make room for the insulation board to level it out. I'm just glad it's done!

hopefully the worst of it is long over. In a one day swap you are just exhausted and beat by the time you are ready to stretch the new liner in. Hopefully you are a *little* refreshed tomorrow and it drops right where it’s supposed to.

I know firsthand how much the last two days stunk...... but you will not have to come back to this project anytime soon. It was the only way to go. Sweet job.

I appreciate that. This job sucked and I know I did everything the right way right down to the very last section with no short cuts. It was horrible back breaking work and I am so glad it is over. This pool should last another 7-10 years.

Someone on FB told me I need a new pool because they only saw the rusted walls. Then I posted a pic of the rehabbed grey wall portion. They were shocked. That grey was spot on. Wish I could have gotten all grey. It looked good.

And your ‘extra time’ will be longer than some others last in the first place. That will keep you warm and fuzzy long beyond the pains of doing it all.
