Just a little tidbit about the ICXX cold water stop I didn't know

My IC60 has been giving a cold water stop light for a few days now. The light was on this morning, and then when I checked about 5 hours later the IC60 was back to generating Chlorine! I thought that when the unit powered up in the morning, it detected cold water and stopped until the next power up cycle or 12 hours. Apparently that is not the case. My system is only running 6 hours a day now, from 10am to 4pm. Seems like the unit is monitoring water temp continously, and when the temp goes above the threshold it will initiate another boot up and run as normal.

I was going to take my IC60 out of the system and install my bypass tube. My winter water temp just hovers around the low 50's so I will let the SWG do its thing for a while. Might be that if I change my schedule to start and finish later in the day I could get some more on time.

No biggie, but I have not seen this mentioned before so I thought I would.

Gary,

Mine works the same way... But I tend to shut mine off when when the cold cutoff light routinely comes on, and just add a little Liquid Chlorine.

For me anyway, I don't have to worry if and when it is going to work.

Whatever works for you, works just fine for me..

Thanks for the post,

Jim R.

Thanks, Jim.

I am in the Riverside area of So Cal, so I do not know if DFW area is much different than my location as far as Winter average temp. When my SWG is in cold cutoff 10 0z of liquid CL I had from the Fall seems to keep my CL at 5-6 ppm and happy. This is my first Winter with SWG so I am learning.
