Hello Everyone,
I'm new to this site and am looking to enter into a contract on an IG soon. I've currently narrowed it down to three PB's. I'll post a plan once contract in place. Going with a geometric pool (13.5k gallons) and spa design. An L shape 18x22 (shallow) and 11x32 (total pool 3.5-6ft). Any recommendations on pool equipment and automation brands and models? Going with a salt clorination system (recomendations?).View attachment 108916

Being a biased Pentair owner I would suggest an Intelliflo VS with an Intellicenter - IC40 combo. Cartridge filter, the biggest you can afford. Dolphin robot.
I suggest you read ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry and consider reviewing the entire Pool School eBook.

Daryl,

I am also a fan of Pentair products.. I have three saltwater pools that all have Pentair automation, with integrated salt systems and IntelliFlo pumps.. These systems have run flawlessly for the past 5 to 8 years.. The 5 year old unit at my house did take a lightning strike, which Pentair repaired under warranty with no questions asked..

I see you are getting a gunite spa... Gunite Spas are the most oversold and underused products of all pool builds.. A lot of people love them, but just as many hate them, so they turn into an expensive decorative item rather than more room for a larger pool.. If you have never used a gunite spa before, then you owe it to yourself to "try one before your buy one"..

Good luck with your new pool build,

Jim R.

Thanks mknauss, the same thing I've been hearing from most, with the exception that I've heard Hayward has superior customer service.

Thanks for the bit of advice Jim, we regularly frequent gunite spas when vacationing and love them. I was initially on the fence due to the lack of thereputic properties, but decided in the end to go for it.
