Intex lack of stock...

Hi...I am planning to buy a new INTEX AGP, but noticed a considerable lack of stock of their inventory, not only at their site (where almost everything is currently unavailable); but at other online retailers as well...is this something usual for this time of the year?...thanks...

.is this something usual for this time of the year?.
I can understand why local vendors might be low on stock as the season hasn't quite kicked into gear yet. But contacting Intex directly should be able to support your needs. Is there a specific size/model you were looking for?

I've noticed this as well!! So odd! I keep checking Amazon and eBay (both have lots of pools available) but I do not know what is considered a "good deal" for these pools. I'm interested in one of the 52" deep ultra pools....round or rectangular. Nothing small but not huge either. I have no idea what is considered a good price since I am new to my pool search. Sorry I was absolutely zero help but I am in the same boat as you and definitely following this thread!

yes, I was able to contact INTEX, and they sort of provided a "canned" response like "we are sorry, but as soon as items become available, we will let you know"...I am looking for their 16ft X 8ft X 42in Prism Frame Pool Set, or something similar...I have seen some deals, but they are quite expensive, and moreover since we are in winter...thanks...

i have been looking for a 16x48 and all i can find are so expensive. i am so following this thread in hopes that here in the next month or so they will be putting them out to market

Have you checked eBay? There’s some decent deals on there! Which Intex pool are you looking for? I can keep an eye out if I see one for a decent price since I am in the exact same boat as you lol

I keep seeing those on eBay for $400-$450. How much do they go for regularly?

@kb109 @chayne Definitely wait for the deals (but buy before April if you can), either end of season or *just* before the season starts are the best deals!

i have actually found one on Ebay for $537 and free shipping. that one is for a 16x48. it comes with a 1200GPH sand filter, which i do not need. it also comes with the intex skimmer that hangs over the edge. do you think i ought to bite the bullet or wait a little longer?
The hang over side skimmer has poor reviews. I would recommend a thru wall skimmer (yes you cut the vinyl wall) into a "proper" filter system. Based on our own personal experience. We've overwintered our tiny pool for 2 seasons and it still looks fantastic. We were actually hoping we wouldn't feel guilty getting the next depth up as our littles grew, but who knew, Thx TFP! lol

i bit the bullet this past Thursday morning and bought this https://smile.amazon.com/Intex-Ultra-Filter-Ladder-Ground/dp/B07F39F71J/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3VF7CG89M4LTQ&keywords=intex+16x48+pool&qid=1551496823&s=lawn-garden&sprefix=intex+16,lawngarden,193&sr=1-1
it is supposed to be delivered Monday March 11th. i cannot wait.
now i can go ahead and get rid of my Coleman that we had for the past 2 years.
i now have another sand filter. thinking of using that to use for my water feature. that way i can take the feature off of my main pump.
i still have my wide mouth skimmer from my previous pool. now all i have to do is wait for it dry up enough so i can get to my shed and take my old pool out of it;s storage container and pull off all my fittings and then for it to get warm so i can put this thing up.

we are both so happy with this purchase. i am hoping with this XTR these poles will last longer. my wife actually asked me the same thing. it had 3 poles that had rusted out. i was thinking of taking the old pool and placing it out by the curb and see if anyone comes by and gets it. i dont feel comfortable trying to sale it because of the poles. if someone comes by and gets it then it is up to them. i will put a note on it stating it needs a couple of poles.

I can't remember if you have littles (kids) or not. Did you get an aftermarket ladder upgrade? Only asking because we are "upgrading" to a 15 x 42 this summer and found a good deal on the "nice" vinyl ladders with the flip up safety feature (so we don't have to pull the metal ladder in/out this year!)
